It’s been three years since the launch of the collaboration between Blue Cross and NVS.
To date this has generated over 17,500 bags of clothing which has generated over £300,000 for Blue Cross through their charity shops and online sales.
That’s a huge sum of money from unwanted clothes! In fact that’s enough money to neuter 6,000 cats or 4,000 dogs.
“We’ve had the odd item donated as well…..a 1963 first press Beetles record “Please Please Me” which had found its way into a clothing bag and raised an amazing £200!
Thank you to all the NVS veterinary practices that are taking part we are so grateful for your fantastic support” says Vanessa Rossiter, Blue Cross Corporate Development Manager.
Looking to the future, Blue Cross moves apace with plans to open more charity shops this year to take their estate to 50 shops by the end of 2014. So please keep giving – new posters and joint branded Blue Cross/NVS clothing bags are out now.
If you would like to take part in this initiative by collecting unwanted clothing for Blue Cross charity shops and help needy pets in their care please contact NVS on 01782 775555 and use the order code 345052 or call Barbara at Blue Cross on 01252 696025
They need 1,000 good quality clothing items to hang in a shop ready for opening, and 150 bags of clothing a week to keep a shop supplied!
Julie Godwin, NVS Marketing Manager, said “It has been great to work with Blue Cross again on what we believe is a fantastic initiative. The support of vet practices all over the country has been overwhelming once again. It’s fabulous to hear of so many people who are on board with helping this wonderful charity and we wish Blue Cross all the very best in raising more money in the future”
