On Sunday 14th August, one of our Warehouse Operatives, Robert Griffin shaved all of his hair off to raise money for a national campaign, ‘Brave the Shave’. Brave the Shave is a national campaign which raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support. So far over 22,324 men and women have signed up to have their head shaved, with over £3,150,998.67 been raised.
Rob said, ‘Most people know someone with cancer, for me that person is my mum. She already had breast cancer and a few months ago was diagnosed with bone cancer. Her continued fight and optimism to beat cancer is an inspiration to us all. During her fight, she also lost her husband to this awful disease but still never gave up on her fight to beat it.
The Macmillan nurses do so much that goes unrecognised, not just nursing but talking and spending time listening to those in need. I wanted to do something to help this continue and to help my mum with her fight the only way I know how, by raising money.’
So far, Rob has raised £264.50 for Macmillan. If you would like to support Rob by sponsoring him please visit his sponsor page: www.bravetheshave.org.uk/ shavers/robert-griffin/
