As the New Year gets well under way, CPD Solutions has crowned three lucky vet nurses the champions of its recent Big Giveaway competition and provided them the perfect way to kick-start their resolutions, with a free Online Mini-Series course of their choice. For winners Rebecca Wilton of Grove Veterinary Centre in Buxton, Michelle Smith of Vets Now Birmingham and Claire Grant of the Delaware Veterinary Group in Somerset, the victories come as a welcome surprise after recently entering the competition in Vet Nurse Times.
As busy schedules recommence at full steam, finding the time to expand their knowledge can be especially challenging for vet nurses. The Online Mini-Series courses offer a stress free solution to staying in-the-know when it comes to a whole host of hot nursing topics. The winners were able to pick their prize from titles including; How Do I Know that My Patient is Alive? The Whelping Bitch and Paediatrics, Dentistry, Getting Started with Physiotherapy, Emergency and Critical Care Nursing, and How to Answer the Telephone. Rebecca, who chose ‘How Do I Know My Patient is Alive?’ says winning the highly coveted Online Mini-Series courses will make improving her nursing know-how simple this year, “What a wonderful prize and a great start to my CPD for 2014! It will give me the perfect boost to help me brush up on my skills.”
Each course consists of three live, online sessions, provides a mammoth eight hours of CPD and equips nurses with essential practical tips and case examples from the expert tutors. All courses come with extensive downloadable notes and a self-assessment quiz to make sure that new-found knowledge really sticks. The flexible format also allows nurses to put their new skills and knowledge into action immediately by attending the live webinar online, while the ‘view-again’ function enables sessions to be revisited at their leisure for up to 12 months after the course commences. This makes the Mini-Series the perfect way for nurses to learn it, live it and then learn a little more.
Since the launch of the first Online Mini-Series course on Practical Wound Management, vet nurses from across the country have been signing up for the specialist sessions and reaping the benefits of learning at their own pace, in their own time and in the comfort of their own homes.
Dr Susie Coughlan, Managing Director of CPD Solutions, isn’t surprised that the Mini-Series courses have been so popular, “The balanced blend of comprehensive, contemporary and concise information, delivered in an easily digestible and enjoyable format is something quite unique. Because each session is carefully created and delivered by the experts, they specifically address some of the most challenging topics that nurses are faced with today. This means nurses can remain current and get the best out of their CPD without having to negotiate traffic jams or wrestle with their rota timetables.”
Michelle can’t wait to begin her chosen course and start to put her new found knowledge into action, “What a brilliant prize – thank you CPD Solutions! The Emergency and Critical Care Nursing Mini-Series will be invaluable as I work in an emergency clinic and will be putting my knowledge to the test every night.”
The first in the eagerly awaited 2014 series, ‘How Do I Know My Patient is Alive?’ commences on the 20th of February at 2pm and will see world-renowned European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia & Analgesia, Adam Auckburally, get to the ‘nitty gritty’ of how to use clinical monitors efficiently and understand exactly what the data means. It’s not every day that you get to learn from leading specialists from the comfort of your sofa, so make sure you don’t miss out and sign up for the courses of your choice at http://www.veterinarywebinars.com
