Commenting on her award, Debbie Richardson, RVN and Clinical Director at Summerleaze, said: “Amanda has worked tirelessly to achieve her additional qualifications, not only to improve her own skills but also to enable her to support the development of our other VNs.
“She is a highly respected member of the practice team, who goes out of her way every day to ensure that we meet the highest clinical standards. Her passion for veterinary nursing is evident, both in her own work and in her interactions with her colleagues. She is very supportive of our VNs, often working in her own time to help them with their studies and with revision for exams.
“Her communication skills are also a great asset to Summerleaze and have enabled her to build long-term relationships with many of our clients. We think she is great and are very proud that she has won this Award. She is a deserving winner.”
Amanda Tucker said: “There are many fantastic nurses within CVS so I was overwhelmed to be chosen. I am honoured that my colleagues put me forward and to be recognised by CVS for my work. I’m also grateful to CVS for providing funding to support my additional qualifications.
“My message to other VNs is to work hard and to speak up if you need support or if you have ideas for the practice. You will be listened to and you can really make a difference.”
