The perfect seminar if you are currently performing lateral suture stabilisation or if someone in your practice would like to learn the technique.
The lecture will provide a comprehensive review of extracapsular repair of the cranial cruciate ligament in canines. The lecture addresses in detail the lateral approach to the stifle, removal of the cruciate remnants, inspection of both the medial and lateral meniscus, potential meniscal release, a review of the various techniques for repairing CrCL rupture in dogs, identification of isometric points, a thorough review of the OrthoZip technique, assessing and addressing potential complications, concluding with a question and answer session.
Using plastic bone models and cadavers, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the joint capsule, examining the cruciate ligaments and meniscus, then apply stabilisation using the OrthoZip technique with a focus on post placement using proven isometric points. High strength orthopaedic adjustable locking loops (OrthoZip by Everost) will be placed on isometrically placed posts and tightened. All attendees will have their repair critiqued by our experienced surgeon.
