Standards Scheme Hands-on update in September

A hands-on day asking delegates “Are you ready for all the-new PSS?” will be held on Thursday 24th September at The Village Hotel Coventry.

Later this year, the RCVS will launch the updated Practice Standards Scheme (PPS) with an emphasis on outcomes, not equipment and on behaviour, not box ticking. It has been designed to measure the factors that impact upon the care patients receive, with the intention of giving practices a clear route to improvement and delivering significant marketing benefits by allowing them to focus on and promote the areas in which practice excels.

Jacqui Molyneux, chair of the RCVS Practice Standards Group, and Adi Nell, senior partner at Medivet, will present an introduction for those considering joining PSS and a practical “how to do it” for those wanting an update on the new scheme.

It will provide an overview highlighting the key benefits including a dedicated IT system, a trained and professional inspectorate and additional “awards” available to practices. Delegates will also have the opportunity to quiz the speakers on all aspects of the scheme and it  requirement and discuss its merits with other delegates.

The day will start at 10am and finish at 4.30pm. Cost is £190 (plus VAT) for SPVA and VPMA members; £265 (plus VAT) for non-members. CPD certificates, launch and refreshments are included.
