Phil Sketchley, retiring chief executive of NOAH, has succeeded vet Bob Stevenson, who has retired, as chairman of the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority (AMTRA).
Mr Sketchely worked closely with AMTRA as NOAH nominee on the AMTRA board. He brings more than 40years’ experience of working human and animal health to AMTRA, an organisation he sees as “crucial to consolidating preventing approaches to animal health and welfare”.
“there are niw more than 6,000 suitably qualified persons(SQPS) working the UK and this is testimony that AMTRA has provided a robust framework for training and registration of SQPs,” he said.
AMTRA secretary general Stephen Dawson said Mr Sketchley was appointed from an exceptionally strong field of candidates, both from within and outside sectors, and he looked forward very much to working with him.
