The Veterinary Practice Management Association (VPMA) has announced dates for a series of regional training days in Sage accounting and payroll software, to include updates on auto-enrolment. The training is to be delivered by Sage expert, Debby Gatehouse, of SV Training. The full day seminars will cover setting up Sage software and report generation, auto-enrolment, reconciliation of receipts and debtors, and integration with practice management systems.
Attendance is free for VPMA members, but the days are also open to non-members at a rate of £60 including VAT. Eight venues have been confirmed so far:
20th April Kilmington, Devon
28th April Hungerford, Berkshire
12th May Kettering, Northants
18th May Godmanchester, Cambridge
26th May Uxbridge, London
9th June Wendover, Buckinghamshire
22nd June Wilmslow, Cheshire
6th July Sevenoaks, Kent
Auto-enrolment is high on the to-do list for practice and finance managers, and the association was receiving calls for help from its members, particularly on integration with Sage. Together with Debby, it devised a full day seminar specifically looking at how to prepare veterinary businesses for auto-enrolment, and set up and manage workplace pension schemes through Sage 50 payroll software.
Achieving accurate reconciliation between Sage and practice management software systems was also cited as a bugbear, and the workshop will look at how to achieve consistency between the two, and highlight common debtor anomalies. It will also include advice on setting up procedures for receipt reconciliation and posting entries from the practice management system onto Sage. Those new to Sage software will also benefit from being shown how to set up the system and how to generate management reports specifically useful for veterinary practices.
The seminars commence at 10 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m. Training will take a workshop format with numbers limited to allow for practical-based learning. Lunch and refreshments are included. The days are expected to be very popular so early booking is advised.
Further details and booking forms are available from the VPMA secretariat by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone on 07000 782324.
